Silicon Dioxide

Silicon dioxide, or silica, is a naturally occurring compound of silicon and oxygen, abundant as quartz in sand and rock, used widely as an anti-caking agent in foods/supplements, a polishing agent in dentistry, and a key component in electronics/glass; while safe orally, inhaling fine crystalline silica dust can cause serious lung diseases like silicosis.
